Our residency curriculum consists of daily lectures by our faculty (please see below) geared toward the residents on all subspecialty topics in ophthalmology. In addition we have a weekly “Core Curriculum” lecture series attended by residents and faculty. Conferences include Grand Rounds with invited guest speakers, Resident Case Presentations, Journal Club, Performance Improvement/Preferred Practice Pattern Projects, Quality of Care Conferences (M&M), and Wet-Lab, all on a rotating basis. Basic Science review sessions to prepare residents for the annual OKAP exam and the written ophthalmology board exam are scheduled. In addition there is a syllabus for the residents to pace their home study reading of the Academy Board Review books.
Each resident has the opportunity to attend the intensive month long Columbia University Basic science course in ophthalmology held in January.
All residents also take part in the Manhattan Eye Review Course 2018 on Tuesday evenings from January through March.
